Control is a five-movement piece for Pierrot ensemble that systematically explores the balance between composer and performer in the dictation of the creative process. The piece’s structure is a linear progression from traditional notation to completely free improvisation, gradually and methodically relinquishing control of the music from the composer to the performers.
