Leapfrog is a short string trio in sonata form, originally composed in 2020 for Ensemble Chartreuse. It experiments with limited interval usage—the first theme avoids thirds and fourths, while the second theme uses them almost exclusively. The wide leaps and the crossing textures of this piece suggest a lighthearted game of leapfrog.

This piece received its live premiere on September 27, 2023 on the Notes After Concert Series in New York City (Instagram: @notesafternyc), curated by Bruno Robles-Rendón.
